Superfruit juices – juices that contain fruits such as acai or pomegranate – have been slower to take off in Latin America, according to Sergio Hidalgo, research analyst at Euromonitor. This is a surprise given production costs are low and restrictions on claims are minimal. Most superfruit juices are exported to countries with higher consumer spending power, such as the United States, and many Latin American consumers buy the same superfruit fresh rather than in juice form on a local basis.
