Session title: Assessing opportunities and risks in consumer wipes market: industry projections and product trends

Session description: With US$14 billion in 2019 and going on US$15 billion in 2020 in combined surface and personal care wipes retail sales, the wipes category remain the focus of industry development. The untapped potential in wipes is estimated at over US$12 billion in incremental retail sales, attesting to long-term opportunities for organic growth. Heightened attention to surface disinfecting and personal hygiene in 2020 led to a surge in demand for wipes, especially in the first half of 2020 as the pandemic was on the rise globally. However, the need for disinfecting and efficacy did not completely overshadow the challenges wipes have been facing pre-COVID, including the need to develop products that meet the sustainability drive.

This Euromonitor presentation will reveal:

1) Overview of wipes growth in retail globally and in North America, with focus on projections through 2025

2) Key drivers of growth for surface care and personal care wipes; balancing fundamentals with “soft drivers”

3) Wipe segmentation, innovation, and sustainability challenge

4) Key strategic takeaways
