The Great Reset on Last Mile

 

One digital trend we will see in 2021 is a reset on last mile delivery. According to Euromonitor International’s Digital Consumer Survey fielded in March and April of 2020, consumers ranked longer than expected delivery times as the most common delivery challenge. Consumers are shopping online even more during the pandemic, and delivery networks are being stretched past their capacity. Businesses are dealing with this challenge by shortening the time it takes for goods and services to reach their end destination by creating operations such as micro-fulfillment centers and ghost kitchens as well as adopting new technology.
