Smartphones Disrupting Consumer Electronics in Canada
As Canadian consumers become more mobile and connected, smartphones continue to disrupt the consumer electronics industry in the region. In 2017, 12.6 million smartphones will be sold in Canada. With larger screens, navigation capabilities and higher-quality cameras, smartphones pose a threat to three consumer electronics categories in particular when it comes to the Canadian market: tablets, in-car entertainment and digital cameras and camcorders.
