High-Income Populations Booming in Emerging Markets
High-income populations, which Euromonitor defines as the population of a country with an annual gross income over US$ 150,000 are growing faster in emerging economies than developed economies. The fast economic growth in Brazil, India, China and Russia is contributing to the booming high income populations in these countries as many developed countries are still struggling to recover from the global economic slowdown and the eurozone sovereign debt crisis. By 2030, Euromonitor expects the high-income population of Brazil, India, China and Russia to reach 15 million people.
