Due to the lingering effects of the recession, two key demographics have emerged in the fast food playing field. First, those who want a better, premium experience, and second, those who are sensitive to price but still looking to indulge. Fast food operators looking to succeed in current economic conditions will fulfill both of these demographics. McDonald’s is an example of a player who created a multi-tiered structure based on these two demographics. On the premium end, McDonald’s has its Angus burgers, and its value menu provides many cheaper options for those looking to save, but indulge.
