Consumer Appliances in China Benefit under Subsidy Program

Due to a subsidy program set in place by the Chinese government, appliance sales in rural areas have grown significantly. Appliances like washing machines and refrigerators showed moderate growth, but it was air conditioners that benefitted the most. Rural consumers who couldn’t previously afford non-essential appliances now could under the subsidy program.
