Presentation title: Private label beverages: navigating the road ahead
Workshop title: Blurring Lines in Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Drinks
Presentation overview: Changing consumer demands are creating new challenges in the European beverage retail market landscape, whilst at the same time driving new market opportunities. In alcoholic drinks, craft distilleries are becoming more established, challenging the traditional multinational distillers by offering innovative products and brand stories, and helping shape the spirits landscape in Europe. At the same time, wine manufactures are placing even-more focus and emphasis on the origin and traceability of their products. In soft drinks, shifting lifestyle trends such as the millennial-led desire for health and wellness options are driving strong premiumisation, boosting sales of more functional and health positioned beverages. This presentation considers the opportunities for Private Label beverages in this constantly evolving retail environment, highlighting the fastest-growing categories and most relevant trends.
Workshop overview: There is a growing overlap between alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as consumer priorities shift; a sense of experience is increasingly prioritised over rigid adherence to categories. Declining alcohol consumption across much of the world is driving innovation in the premium adult beverage space. At the same time, traditional drinking rules are being eroded, allowing producers to target previously unviable consumption occasions. Where do the opportunities lie?
