Euromonitor to Speak at India’s Growth Net Summit 2016

Emerging countries will remain, despite the slowdown, the most dynamic group of economies in the world with GDP growth rates expected to continue to be two to three times higher than those of the developed countries. Euromonitor will participate in the 4th Annual Meeting of India’s Growth Net Summit, which this year’s theme is ‘Restoring Higher Growth in Emerging Markets’.

Date: April 8, 2015

Time: 11:30 – 12:45

Venue: Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi, India

Conference: The Growth Net Summit is an initiative partnered with the Ananta Aspen Center and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) to reflect the new realities in the global economy as a result of the emergence of a group of emerging market countries – the new growth countries. This year the Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India is the official Partner.

Speaker: An Hodgson, Income & Expenditure Manager, Euromonitor International

Session: “The emerging consuming middle class: Withstanding the cyclical challenges better than one could think…”

Session Description: Despite the economic slowdown in almost all Emerging Market countries, an emerging middle class is increasingly making its presence and impact felt, and domestic consumption continues to grow at a respectable rate. Prospects for expanding consumption in almost every country remain quite promising, sustained by the rise of the middle class in these countries and expanding expectations.

Areas to be covered:

  • Assessing the middle class expansion over the next decade
  • E- and m-commerce as consumption driver and getting ever stronger
  • Focusing on the fast evolving tastes and expectations of consumers in emerging markets
  • How the smartphone is changing the consumption paradigm in the new growth countries
