Despite the economic difficulties, small cooking appliances in Western Europe witnessed a positive performance in 2011, with many products performing well in several markets. Per capita expenditure was highest in small cooking appliances than any other small appliance category, increasing 32% between 2006 and 2011 and it is expected to grow a further 26% in the next five years. Expenditure in coffee machines and deep fat fryers are boosting this growth. While consumers replicating the going-out experience at home are driving sales of coffee pods machines, health concerns are fuelling growth in deep fat fryers using minimal quantity of oil.
