Euromonitor International’s latest research in Consumer Health shows a continuation of moderate growth in 2018 across many over-the-counter drug categories on the back of a strong cold and flu season early in the year and a deepening engagement with OTC products across emerging economies. In addition, the prevention marketplace (vitamins, dietary supplements, sports nutrition) continues to experience high growth in 2018 due to expanding healthy living trends around self-care especially among younger consumers, broader interest in digital and mobile health, and innovations in ingredients and consumer engagement strategies. We expect these factors to continue to influence the global marketplace for Consumer Health in the near term, which will help to sustain strong growth in the industry over the forecast period.
