India is one of the most promising digital markets in Asia with an increasingly digitally-savvy youth population and millions more expected to come online. However, poor digital infrastructure reflected in low broadband penetration hinders realization of the country’s digital potential. India also ranks low in Euromonitor International’s Digital Consumer Index. However, the government is looking to enhance digital payments and is implementing projects to increase rural broadband coverage, which are expected to improve the digital landscape.
