New Charity Partners Announced for Our Global Offices

September 29th, 2017

Over the summer Euromonitor International went through the process of choosing our second round of Regional Charity Partners. All staff at each of our 12 local offices were invited to nominate charities and causes that they care about, to be considered for financial support. Our regional CSR Committees in each office had tough decisions choosing between the great causes that were nominated. This round 20 partners were chosen, who will be supported this year alongside the 24 partners chosen in April.

In Sydney, staff chose to support charity Benevolent Table with their Two Good social enterprise project. Two Good supports women who have experienced domestic violence into employment through their training programme. Kate Beesley, who nominated the charity, comments: “They employ women from local refugees to cook in the Two Good kitchen and use the “Buy One, Give One’ model to feed many more women and children within local refuges. Euromonitor’s donation will allow two women to benefit from work experience within the Two Good kitchen and help them get back on their feet.”

Other areas of support include; disadvantaged young people in Bangalore (Parikrama Humanity Foundation), Chicago (Kids Off the Block Inc), and Singapore (Xin Yuan Community Care), and cancer support charities in Santiago (Corporación Yo Mujer) and Vilnius (Childhood Cancer Fund Rugute). In Cape Town one of the organisations chosen was Project Dignity Trust’s Subspadz project. With Euromonitor funding, 310 girls in South Africa will receive Subz packs, along with educational workshops, to ensure that access to menstrual hygiene products is not a barrier to them attending school.

In our London office, the three charities chosen this round were Body & Soul, The Country Trust, and New Horizon Youth Centre. New Horizon Youth Centre’s CEO, Shelagh O’Connor, said; “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Euromonitor who have already made a valuable contribution to our work with homeless young people.”  The video below shows some of the vital work they are undertaking with vulnerable young people in London.

Our regional partners programme is one of our new Corporate Responsibility initiatives, started this financial year. Alongside this programme we also have new Headline Partners who will be announced in due course.

Our Regional Partners enable us to work towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, part of our commitment as signatories to the United Nations Global Compact.
