March 18th, 2017

Event Name: Licensing Expo Japan 2017

Date: April 27, 2017

Location: Tokyo Big Sight, Tokyo, Japan

Event Description: Licensing Expo is an international licensing event held globally and this will be the first time to launch in Japan. Japan is the third largest market for licensed products, after the U.S. and U.K, and this expo will connect licensors and licensees, and all the industry professionals to explore the further potential of this market.

Speaker: Matthew Hudak

Date & Time: April 27 11:00 AM-12:15 PM

Presentation Title: How Character Licensing Can Keep Breaking Records in the Global Toy Industry

Presentation Abstract: Licensing has become a core driver of traditional toys and games growth, led by blockbuster franchises like Star Wars and Marvel. Smartphone proliferation has broadened access to entertainment media and increased the role of content in toys. Despite the already outsized role of licensing, the licensed toy industry has room to grow as a glut of new media content, new licensors entering the toy market, and rising global incomes and child populations will present new opportunities in toys.
