According to new data from Euromonitor, from 2015 to 2016, there was US 1.8 trillion dollars in card spend worldwide. Of this card spend, roughly two-thirds is coming from the conversion from paper payments to card payments in China alone. Also, for the first time, consumer cash payments will register negative growth over the forecast period. This can be seen as a major victory for card and electronic payments.
