Americans’ interest in all things handcrafted and artisanal has led to a strong demand for specialty coffee such as single-origin beans prepared with pourover methods using the Chemex and Hario V60 both in the home and in foodservice channels. The development of coffee as an artisanal product is similar to wine and craft beer where clubs and blogs have created a community that enjoys storytelling and appreciating the flavor nuances of the gourmet beverages.
