In this video, Euromonitor examines popular holiday products for consumer electronics, video games and traditional toys and games.
Wearables are expected to be a big gift item this year with new products launching from Asus, Pebble and Fitbit. The Apple Watch will also be a popular item with those looking to splurge on their gifts. Smartphones and tablets will remain popular gift items despite a slowing demand for both products.
No new consoles are being released this holiday season, which means games themselves will be the popular item this year. New releases such as Fallout 4 and Halo 5 will lead the way for games, but toys to life will also be a huge holiday item with the release of new products from Disney and Lego.
Traditional Toys and Games
Construction toys will lead traditional toys and games sales, with Lego once again paving the way. The release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens in December 2015 means that Star Wars themed Lego sets will be a popular holiday item. In fact, Star Wars will likely permeate many toys and games sales from role playing games to action figures this year.
