Cities in the United Arab Emirates are advancing in technology and connectivity, and as a result are being labelled as “smart cities”. For example, mobile payment technology is increasing across the country, and the UAE is set to become the first country with a unified health database. These, along with other advancements, are helping the UAE’s smart cities value expand to about US $1.5 trillion by 2020.
