A sign that economic recovery is picking up in the UK, Christmas dinners are set to be cheaper this year, down by an estimated 21.0% year-on-year in nominal GBP terms. British households typically enjoy a meal of turkey, ham, brussels sprouts and potatoes on Christmas day, with wholesale prices in November dictating the prices consumers pay in the supermarkets in December. The food crisis of 2012 drove the price of Christmas dinner up everywhere, a trend which looks set to be reversed in 2013.
