Inflation in Argentina is driving down sales of tissue in the country with sales growing by a mere 1 percent in volume terms in 2013. In an effort to reduce inflation, the government has strengthened pricing controls over 500 key brands with all major bathroom tissues included. As a result, consumers are turning to private label tissue and other lower priced products. However, these prices are slowly rising and a solution must be determined before shortages become a country-wide issue.
