Groupe SEB, owner of brands such as Krups, Tefal and Moulinex, is performing slowly in the global cookware market, hampered by allegations in China that products of its recently acquired brand Supor contained manganese. Although the allegations were denied by the ministry of health, SEB still suffered negative media attention. The company’s hopes of growth now rely on Supor’s distribution network in China, which SEB acquired with the brand itself.
