Procter and Gamble and Unilever recently posted their financial results with P&G showing positive but overall disappointing growth and Unilever performing well. Oru Mohiuddin, Home and Personal Care Research Analyst at Euromonitor, states that P&G could take a page out of Unilever’s recent success in diversifying their product range. Unilever has introduced lower end surface care product Domestos to the Middle East, complimenting the upper range products it already sells in the region. P&G could follow this example and add a value positioned product to its laundry care sector, as its detergent Tide is viewed as a higher end product.
