Although cider and perry are fairly common in Western Europe, these drinks have not yet gained popularity in Eastern Europe. Milan Stabel, research analyst Milan Stabel at Euromonitor, says that many Eastern European countries are largely beer consumers. Eastern European consumers are either unfamiliar with cider or confuse it with cheap apple-based wine. Educating these consumers can help bring a successful introduction of cider in Eastern Europe.
