In the UK, the concept of the “rent-a-garden” has recently started which allows travelers to rent their gardens while they are away, and gives tourists an opportunity to work in gardens while they’re away from home as a leisure activity. This concept is present in countries such as Spain, Italy and Romania.
Unrest continues to be a hindrance for tourism in the Middle East. Egypt, for example, has recorded about a 35% drop in tourism in 2011. Egypt and its neighboring countries are attempting to use social media to promote tourism in their respective countries.
