Euromonitor International is pleased to release its first Top Airports Ranking, covering 100 of the world’s leading airports in terms of passengers carried over 2009-2010. Below we can reveal the top five busiest airports in the world…
1. Atlanta Airport (USA)
2. Beijing Capital International Airport (China)
3. Chicago Airport (USA)
4. Haneda Airport (Japan)
5. London Heathrow Airport (UK)
Atlanta Airport continued to be the world’s busiest airport in terms of passenger numbers in 2010, followed by Beijing Capital International Airport, which jumped into second place, up from fifth place in the previous year. Meanwhile, London Heathrow Airport dropped from second to fifth place, overtaken by Chicago (ORD) Airport and Japan’s Haneda Airport in third and fourth positions respectively.
