Euromonitor International’s newly published alcoholic drinks data reveals that 2010 performance improved on 2009 for all categories globally. Yet regional differences remain. Emerging markets reaffirmed their role as the main engine for growth.

China in particular continues to impact the global market: 50% of all forecasted absolute volume growth will come from the country. Highlighting the category’s importance within the industry, beer represents almost 80% of global volumes.
