Emerging Market Economies to Strengthen in 2017

We expect growth in emerging markets to pick up this year and to continue to strengthen slightly in the medium term. However, it will remain significantly below pre-financial crisis levels. One important point to note is the amount of uncertainty facing the global economy, which is pretty extraordinary at the moment. The Trump administration will impact on emerging markets through trade protectionism and also through the likely fiscal stimulus and increasing interest.
