Global Payment Volume Outlook

Euromonitor International expects debit to outperform (% CAGR payment volume) all other card types in four regions with pre-paid to assume leadership status in the remaining three regions. Globally, card and electronic continue to siphon payment share from paper. In CAGR terms, Eastern Europe owns a slight advantage over the other emerging regions with Asia Pacific — powered by the rapidly expanding Chinese payment landscape — set to far exceed regional counterparts in absolute growth.
