Southeast Asia’s Importance in Consumer Foodservice

The region of Southeast Asia – Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam and Thailand – is sometimes overlooked by consumer foodservice operators, but shouldn’t be ignored due to its location. These countries sit in between China and India, two of the most populated areas of the world, accounting for combined foodservice sales of US$100 billion. Foodservice operators can focus on several untapped markets in Southeast Asia by catering to rural areas and expanding on snack offerings.
