Salon Influence and High Technology in Global Beauty and Personal Care Products

Global beauty and personal care products are seeing a number of salon influences in recent years, states Irina Barbalova, global head of beauty and personal care research at Euromonitor. In hair care, home straightening kits and conditioner sales were on the rise, with a focus on hair products offering 'care and repair'. For skin care products, the use of high technology clearly influenced the at- home cleansing and skin rejuvenating devices, which are being promoted as offering the same results as salons.
