The economic crisis and austerity measures introduced in 2011 in France hit all sectors of activity and, as a result, consumption in the country suffered. To preserve the pursuit of pleasure, French consumers favor price and product simplicity. Johanna Kolerski-Bezerra, Research Analyst at Euromonitor, explains the categories in beauty in personal care that have been successful despite the crisis.
