The Market for Stand Up Plastic Pouches

Globally, stand up plastic pouches sold about 40 billion units in 2011, making the pack type one of the most dynamic in terms of growth. Karine Dussimon, senior packaging analyst at Euromonitor, states that pouches are most prominent in food, but can also be found in the pet food, beverages, and home and personal care categories. There are opportunities for pouches in emerging markets such as Latin America and Asia Pacific where the pouch is still a relatively unconsidered alternative to rigid plastic containers.
