The United Kingdom's Economic Outlook for 2012

 

The United Kingdom's economy is expected to fall back into recession in the first quarter of 2012. Daniel Tarling-Hunter, economist at Euromonitor International, gives some of the reasons why the UK's economy is sliding: 

  • Increasing unemployment
  • High inflation levels
  • Low consumer confidence

However, the UK is expected to return to growth in the third quarter of 2012, driven by the economic boost of the Olympic Games and inflation reduction.
