The nature of the digital divide is changing to focus less on the gap in penetration rates and increasingly on speeds of broadband connections. Developed countries generally have a strong demand for e-commerce, m-commerce, and advanced digital products and services whilst lower-income countries will welcome manufacturers and marketers of affordable mobile devices such as smartphones and tablet computers.
