Consumer Appliance Manufacturing Favours Poland

Sales of consumer appliances in Poland exceeded 2% volume growth in 2011 following a boost in production. Wojciech Orszewski, research analyst at Euromonitor International, states that Poland has now surpassed both Italy and Germany in consumer appliance production. This is largely due to Whirlpool closing its German factory and shifting production exclusively to Poland. In addition, Indesit is building a new factory in Poland that will manufacture cooker hoods; the first of its kind. Poland's geographical location is an ideal place to manufacture appliances as they are easily shipped to both Eastern and Western Europe.
