Smaller Pack Types Lead to Faster Consumption in PET

PET packaging is gaining more use in home and personal care, states Karine Dussimon, packaging research analyst at Euromonitor International. In fact, PET packaging in home and personal care is expected to gain about 2 billion units to 2015. This is due to consumers in emerging markets starting to use shampoo and shower gels. PET is also growing fast in household disinfectants, fabric softeners, liquid soap and mouthwashes. These are categories where consumers in mature markets are trading down to smaller pack types. Dissimon goes on to explain the reasons behind smaller pack types in each category.
